Joomla 1.6 Compatible
JomSocial 2.2 is now not only compatible with Joomla 1.5, but also Joomla 1.6. You can pair the latest version of Joomla with the best social networking tool.
Facebook Invite
Now you can conveniently invite your Facebook friends using the built-in friends inviter. You can add friends simply by checking on their Facebook avatars. Your members will also have the seamless experience to contribute and grow the community together.
Improved Share Box
Our new share box allows you to share status updates, post photos or videos, and create events all in a single place. With this feature your members will get to post their social activities easily without leaving the frontpage.
Enhanced Toolbar
The new toolbar will have distinctive notifications for friend requests, private messaging, group invites and others.
On top of that, the navigation is much more practical with tabs for frequently visited pages. You can now personalize the toolbar menu with the familiar Joomla menu structure.
Massively enhanced Social Stream
Replacing the old activity stream, Social Stream is much more interactive with 'comment' and 'like' system, all-in-one sharebox. You can do social updates on the fly, with enhanced privacy setting and much more.
Improved Layout
We have re-arranged the layout of the frontpage to give social stream more usable space. Other modules like Latest Photos/Videos/Members are conveniently located at the sidebar. More Backend Control
Template setting for JomSocial now has its own page with a host of new options.
Admins will be able to create new groups from Joomla backend and set the daily limit (not just total) for events, groups, video and photo uploads.
Anti-spam system
Admins have the option to use Akismet to detect spam from all user-created content like comments, replies and status updates.
To discourage spamming behaviour, admins can also set the daily limit for photos and video uploads as well as events and groups creation.
New Language file format
Our language file is now clearer, more organized and structured to ease translators to translate into their native language. It is compatible with both Joomla 1.5 and 1.6.
